Abstract

The carpenters sculptors of Thuya are experts in this ancient art which is part of the very definition of the identity of the city. This precious wood embalms the alleys of the Medina and makes it live to the rhythm of hammers and modelers. Essaouira is also famous for its greatly demanded silver jewelry . Their design and manufacturing techniques remain unchanged and their creativity inexhaustible. Initiated by the jewish goldsmiths, jewelry crafts particularly developed in Essaouira in the mid-18th century. Souiris Jewelers continue until today to excel in preserving this art through the generations.
