Abstract

In Fez, the tanner perpetuates ancestral gestures to turn the skin of sheep or goat into soft leather which will become shoes, bags, slippers and other items that make the fame of Moroccan leather. Today like before, tanning is done without chemical products or machines, It calls for rudimentary and simple tools, natural dyes and the physical engagement of the craftsman.
