Abstract

The 12000th anniversary of the founding of Fez coincides with the emergence of the Kingdom of Morocco and "Namadij" rereads the history of the Kingdom through its craft. For Moroccans, the year 2008 is a particular one. It marks 12 centuries of the foundation of city of Fez by Moulay Idriss II, who chose it as the capital of the Kingdom. The team of "Namadij" suggests a special issue with several reports on the crafts and their evolution during 1200 years. For this purpose, it visited the most prestigious monuments in the city of Fez and studied the various crafts taking into account the rule under which the monuments were built.
