Abstract

The episode suggests an unprecedented investigation on Moroccans living and working in Spain, who suffer from the impact of the global economic crisis. As in other European countries, the most vulnerabble social classes are the first to be affected. Among them is the Moroccan community from which 86 000 workers found themselves jobless ! To deal with this situation, the Spanish government has implemented a voluntary dismissal plan to drive them back to their country. In return, it offered the payment of the unemployment benefits in proportion to the number of years of activity.
