Abstract

The great moussem Moulay Idriss Zerhoun which is held annually, for a month between the end of harvest and the beginning of ploughing, is a national celebration . Participants in the moussem are the Taifas of Meknes, Fez, Rabat, and also the tribes of the Middle Atlas and the people from Souss. The moussem is celebrated to pay tribute to the first person who is legitimately of prophetic descent.
