Abstract

The archives of the Suez Canal provide a fundamental interest, both from the point of view of the history of technology and engineering (the Suez Canal was the first to have been dug by mechanical means), and that of the naval and economic history. The archive presents the inauguration of the city of Port-Fouad, created in 1926, by the company of the Suez Canal on the Asia bank opposite Port-Said. The 14th International Congress of Navigation held in Cairo ended, the guests arrive by train. Senior officials and distinguished persons await the King's arrival. The arrival of the royal train at the station H.M the King Fouad leaves the train station and goes to his yacht, the " Mahroussa", on board the car of the court.
