Abstract

An interview with Dr Soleiman Salah, Professor of chemistry and the pesticides toxicity, Faculty of agriculture, University of Alexandria. He is also the advisor of the library of Alexandria Director and a biodiversity expert who presents the life encyclopedia project. On December 14, the library became partner in the encyclopedia project, and Dr Ismail Serradj and James Edwards, project Executive Director signed an agreement memorandum. The encyclopedia of life is a free online network aimed at documenting 1.800.000 living species. It is a compilation of existing databases and contributions from experts and non-experts from all over the world. Its aim is also documenting living species in the arab world which will help their preservation. The project includes the translation of biodiversity data to arabic, which will enrich the world's scientific content.
