Abstract

Omneya Darwish (Center for Special Studies and Programs-CSSP ) is talking about the Encyclopedia of life project in English. On the 14th of December, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina became a partner in the Encyclopedia of Life project .The Encyclopedia of Life (EOL) is a free, online collaborative encyclopedia intended to document all of the 1.8 million living species known to science. It is compiled from existing databases and from contributions by experts and non-experts throughout the world. The project aims at documenting and listing all species present in the Arab region which will help preserve and benefit from these species. It will also include translating the EOL portal and Biodiversity data into Arabic.
