Abstract

Alexandria’s library has organized the first exhibition to present the history of printing in Egypt. Bulaq’s exhibition printing office. The exhibition included what remained from Bulaq’s heritage printing office which included many printing machines dating back to the era Mohammed Ali and which revealed the evolution of printing techniques till the early twentieth century. It also included the text of Bulaq printing office’s establishment and its renovation which dates back to the era of El Khadiwi Tawfiq. In this exhibition, people saw the first Gazette which included many Egyptian events, the rare printing press publications as well as the book of the workers’ salaries and wages which dates back to 1888 . The exhibition was organized in celebration of two hundred years of Mohammed Ali’s reign on Egypt.
