Abstract

Mrs Hidjane, a social worker and a researcher in human rights in the Jordanian women’s union talked about the experience the Jordanian women union which was founded in 1945. The union has created a committee to light violence against women and started with legal, social and psychological advice. Then opened program to fight illiteracy and rehabilitate women. It also created projects to train women for simple jobs. Hijane also talked about the opening of “A home for women”, in 1999 which is a project for legal, social counseling for women victims of all sorts of violence.
