Abstract

Mr Mahmoud Mourad, vice- editor of Al Ahram, said that the Suez war or the tripartite aggression on Egypt, in 1956, is worth attention from us. We are celebrating its fiftieth anniversary because the British- French-Israeli aggression on Egypt known as the Suez war is an important event in the history of this country, therefore must be remembered and taught. We must look for the relationship between its causes and motives, and the situation in the Arab Egyptian scene. We must also study its causes in the framework of the local, regional, Arab and global circumstances, and find out if these conditions are similar to the ones existing now, and whether there is a link between Egypt and the international environment. Mourad said that the cause of the war was the nationalization of the Suez Canal.
