Abstract

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina wishes the Biennale to become a meeting point for different cultures and many researchers, all intent on conceptualizing the “book" as a work of art. "Imagining the Book II", as did the 1st event, aims at presenting the book as a concept, as opposed to an object. Various artistic practices attempt to convey the conceptual essence of the book through visual representations that take on many artistic formats : modern and traditional media, including installation, video art, narration, and narrative creation, in addition to using paper, metal, glass, wood, stones, chemicals, paint, graphics, expressive forms of mixed materials, and also 3D objects, sound and light media. The exhibition held from 14 April to 21 May.
