Abstract

Vraka, the wide-breeches worn traditionally by men in Cyprus is the subject of this short documentary. Vraka was worn by men in Cyprus as well as other countries in the region up to the beginning of the 20th century. It then began to gradually give its place to other "European" garments. Stills of men with wide breeches in various activities - Interview with Eleni Papademetriou, a folklorist - Seamstress explaining how a pair of wide breeches is made and demonstration - Man wearing wide breeches walking - interview.
