Abstract

The arrival of spring (Tafsit in the Ahaggar language), is celebrated with joy in Tamanrasset, at the end of April. The festival lasts three days with camel shows and rhythmic songs as a welcome to guests, and all sorts of business exchanges; artistic evenings are performed by local bands and traditional camel races are held; though Tafsit is celebrated throughout many Algerian regions, it is quite special in the Hoggar.
