El Kala, whose name is associated with coral, is a peaceful port where daily trawlers travel around one of the richest coasts of Algeria; from the top of its waterfront, the town looks at the port and awaits the return of the fishermen; the fishery resource is one of the components of the economy, with tourism and coral fishing; the lakes El Mellah and Tanga are the main sites of development and production of young fish.
