Abstract

At the beginning of each lunar year, the town of Djanet, in the extreme South of Algeria, celebrates Sebiba. Sebiba refers to an ancestral feast which had allowed two Tuareg tribes to seal a peace pact. Dressed in traditional costumes, members of El Mihane and Azelouaz troops liven up the party, attended by the people of Ahaggar, tourists and visitors from neighboring areas.
