Tin Hinane literally means the mistress of tents; The Touareg have orally transmitted the story of Tin Hinane, who would be their ancestor . Historians try to separate legend from reality . In 1925, a French – American scientific mission discovered a female skeleton and some jewelry in Tabalessa, 80km far from the city of Tamanrasset; the skeleton is supposed to be Tin Hinane’s. Interviews with Karim Arib, Mohamed Houma, who is adamant on the legendary character of Tin Hinane, and Houria Mokrane from the Bardo Museum.Type
