Abstract

This documentary is part of a series of programs on various traditional dances in Algeria. This issue is devoted to dance Alaoui , traditional male dance in Oran highlands (Mascara, Ain Temouchent, Sidi Belabbes , Sebdou and Tlemcen, performed by several men often carrying hand guns(barouds). This dance is characterized by shoulder movements and foot strikes to the rhythm of the “Galal”.
