Abstract

Mohammed Khadda was born on 14th March, 1930 in Mostaganem and died on May 4th in Algiers. He is an Algerian painter who is considered as one of the founders of contemporary Algerian paintings and one of the leading exponents of what is called “The school’s Sign”, Attentive to the European Art’s evolution, and enriched with other continents expressions from the beginning of the century. Khadda discovers that in addition to the Cubist art’s interest for African masks, great Western painters are inspired by elements of Arab culture.
