The Targui (plural: tuareg) leads a simple life in the Sahara. Being Tuareg is first of all to identify with a set of traditions, a language and an identity writing that transcend borders. The Tuareg cover their faces with a veil revealing only the eyes; they wear a large "Gandoura" over their clothes, which is usually colored blue indigo, and rubbed off on their skin, hence their name of blue men. Their women are associated with various activities of their community and enjoy a great freedom of speech and management of the family. Music, songs, poetry and tales are fundamental in Tuareg’s life and remain the best guarantors of their identity.Type
