Abstract

‘Ecrans du Sud’ ( South screens) is a program about the cinema and film criticism. Film buffs, journalists and filmmakers are invited to attend a projection followed by discussions with a dramatic and technical analysis. The broadcast is also a look at the events or the film production in Algeria. The film chosen is Gillo Pontecorvo ' s revolutionary movie 'The Battle of Algiers', shot in 1966 in the Casbah of Algiers, which chronicles the events that shook the capital. The guest of this issue is Gillo Pontecorvo himself.
