Abstract

"Algeria: History and Antiquities" offers the presentation of the Mzab, a group of oases in the northern Algerian Sahara that consists of five ancient cities: El Atteuf; Bounoura; Ghardaia; M'lika and Beni yezgan. This valley was classified World Heritage Site by UNESCO on December 17, 1982. The reports show the civilizations, the historical sites and the traditional activities of these cities, and some interviews with Salah Bouleidi, teacher, and Zouheir Bellalou director of the Office of Protection of the Mzab. We also discover the tomb of Sidi Brahim, marabou of the region and the operating principle of the foggaras.
