Abstract

Documentary on Arabic calligraphy and its teaching in Algeria , The journalist Mohamed Lamine Touati and the historian of art ,a teacher at the School of Fine Arts in Algiers , present the history and evolution of Arabic calligraphy and its teaching in Algeria . The calligraphy is evoked through supports it decorates (ornamentation of mosques, mausoleums, tombs, the Koran, books, etc.), the instrument used is the qalam: reed sharpened according to the differnt types of writing .
