Abstract

Ibn Khaldoun whose full name is Abu Zayd Ibn Khalid Mohamed Ibn Abderrahmane Al Hadrani was born on May 27th, 1332 in Tunis died on March 17th, 1406 in Cairo. Ibn Khaldoun was one of the greatest Muslim interllectuals, from a Hispano-Muslim family who had settled in the province of Seville (Andalusia). His parents were originated from Yemen. Ibn Khaldoun, a North African historian, was one of the leading theorists in the history of the mediteranean civilization. Precursor of modern sociology, Ibn Khaldoun is a reference in the field of reflection in the social history of peoples and civilizations.
