Abstract

This place which the Emir Abdelkader chose to build a water mill has undergone a restoration within the framework of “Tlemcen, Capital of Islamic culture 2011”. It should be noted that the first exploration of the karstic cave of Ghar Boumaaza was conducted in 1931, by Henry Marcel who was in search of water supplies for power generation and irrigation. From 1931 to 1959, other expeditions conducted by explorers who successfully passed the main drain and covered a distance of 4km, reaching a depth of 242m.
