Abstract

Azzedine Medour was fascinated by history, that is why he achieved a number of productions based on archival footage. He doesn’t tell it, he questions it and calls upon it. On the French colonization period in Algeria, he produced “I love you so much”, a film for which he was granted the first prize in the American documentary film festival in New-York in 1985. From filmed archives, he produced an ingenious montage including humor and derision. The same process allowed him to relate the events that convulsed humanity during the twentieth century. We can find in “facts and facts”, a series of 33 episodes of 26 minutes each, the world history narrated in an unexpected cinematographic dynamic.
