The national park of Tassili (72.000km²) in the province of Illizi is registered On the World Heritage list of the UNESCO since 1982, and classified as a reserve of man and the biosphere since 1986. Many endangered animals such as the moufflon and several species of gazelles have found refuge in this park. It has been considered as the largest open air museum in the World up to now.Type
