Frantz Fanon was born in Fort-de-France ( Martinique), on July 20th, 1925. He was a psychiatrist, a writer and an anti-colonialist fighter whose thought and action has marked the 20th century. Early in the war of Algeria, in 1954, he committed himself to the nationalist resistance and established contacts with some officers of the national liberation army as well as with the political leadership of the FLN. He joined the FLN in Tunis, where he collaborated in the central press organ. In tribute to Frantz Fanon, the responsibles of Bab-el-Oued high school, named after him, organized a press conference for the benefit of high school girls, with the participation of Françline, Frantz Fanon's niece.Type
