Abstract

Benyoucef Benkhedda is an Algerian politician. A pharmacist by training, a former activist in the MTLD, He was the second president of the Provisional Government of the Algerian Republic (GPRA) in Algeria during the war until its independence in 1962. The order of General de Gaulle officially recognizing the independence of Algeria coincided, on July 3, with the arrival in Algiers of members of the GPRA (Provisional Government of the Republic of Algeria). The president of the GPRA, Benyoucef Benkhedda, launched a televised radio speech to the Algerian people.
