Abstract

The Touareg of the Tassili N'adjer continue to preserve the wedding ceremonies, a custom inherited from their ancestors, which are held according to specific traditions. The Touareg marriage rituals comprise songs called the alewen. These songs accompany each step of the preparation of the feast : the bride's procession, the collective preparation of the meal ... The feast is often supported by the whole community. It is even frequent to celebrate several weddings on the same day, to limit the cost and give the party more pomp.
