Abstract

In Algeria, the pottery is different from one region to another, as a result of the various influences the country has undergone throughout history. If the manufacturing steps are substantially the same, the result is far from being identical. In Kabylia, for example, pottery, decorated with patterns, has a red shade. In the south of the Adrar, objects with original shapes, paint in black, can be found. Pottery of the Nementcha mountains are fashioned in clay with pinkish tones and decorated with brown drawings. Originally, the objects were made and exchanged between neighbors. Today, you will find them for sale all over the country.
