Abstract

Special evening dedicated to Mohamed Al-Tounsi Biram, the poet of the people. Despite the distance that separated him from Egypt, his pen wrote only for his country and about his country. His readers loved in his poems and jadzals only these elements that bound him to his homeland. Exiled in France by the Sultan Ahmad Fouad in 1920 because of his Jadzal entitled "The squash of the Sultan" (the squash represents the image of political impotence and physical disgrace), he was allowed to return in his country only in 1938. This absence has not prevented him from following by far the news of his country. On his return, he wrote and composed for the most famous artists, such as Farid El Atrash, Assmahan and Oum Kalthoum.
