Abstract

Palacol is a very small island near the island of Lošinj. It is not easy to reach the place. Myths and legend talk about sailors and pirats living there. There is also a telling that there are tunnels connecting Palacol with the other island Oruda. Palacol is about 40m long. It is also a protected area for the nesting ground of the endangered bird species. It is a botanical and ornithological reserve. Finally, Palacol is a private island and, as a consequence of this, rich Russians are offering millions of euros to buy it.
