Abstract

Among very interesting cultural buildings in the area of ​​Kornati National Park, certainly the most impressive is the church of Our Lady of Tarca dating from the Middle Ages. The modest one-nave sacral buildings (rural Late Romanesque church) was built on the site of an early Christian basilica, probably the remains of the church. The construction of Our Lady of Tarca has not been determined, it might be dating back to the 12./13, 14th, or 15th/16th century. In this church, masses are being held today (every first Sunday in July). Their importance has grown from purely religious event and become part of the tourist attractions of this area.
