Good food is a part of the Dalmatian tradition. People from Makarska made sure that this tradition wouldn't disappear. They have founded a non-governmental association that brings people together around the dinner table and the sea. Marendin is a festival of food. People talk and sing around this topic for days. This is what is recommended to guests : Leave Dalmatians alone when they are having their "Marendin".
