Abstract

Report in a corsican village on the traditional culture in the collective memory of the aboriginals. The band "canta u populu corso" sings in corsican language, the villagers recite poems in corsican (subtitled), they gather the evening to sing songs of exile. Old women show, through history and songs, that these complaints " the lamenti" and poems are essential elements of the Corsican culture that is orally transmitted through generations and that represent a form of resistance of the Islanders to the " continent".
