Abstract

Grasse was once the capital of perfume. Though the production is less important today, it is renowned for the quality of its raw material. Many ‘noses’, creators of fragrances, are still working there, especially for specific orders. Samples are prepared by the noses, before being produced on an industrial scale. All the raw materials are obtained from the distillation carried out within the factory. 60% of the fragrances are then dispatched worldwide.
