At ‘La Couronne’ station in Martigues, the Secretary of State for the Post and Telecommunication, Mr. Norbert Segard, accompanied with the Moroccan Minister of State Mr. Aerdad, established the first official communication France-Morocco, at 11:15. Mr. Segard, in turn, takes the handset and says a few words: ‘It is a Franco-Moroccan day’. The undersea link, called ”Friendship” was the subject of a Memorandum of Understanding in 1976. This link will continue until West Africa. Interview with Mr. Aerdad: ‘France and Morocco are sister countries’.Type
