A marble bust of Julius Caesar was recently recovered in the Rhone, in the city of Arles, founded by the Roman dictator in 46 BC. This is the oldest known representation of Caesar.

The film is about the exhibition at the Museum of Ancient Arles. The 700 objects found in and brought out of the river Rhone give us a very good idea of the activity and wealth of the Roman town. These remarkable objects, the result of twenty two years' excavations, are attracting large numbers of visitors, who are particularly drawn to the exceptional head thought to be that of Julius Caesar.

- and I thought that the face had disappeared because as a fact,

- the back of the head was truncated and we realized it was against the floor.

- I recognized it like that, I would say,
