Abstract

Report eminently pedagogical (or propaganda ...) of Axel Toursky, to demonstrate all the benefits of economic development and social well-being, created through the construction of the dam of Serre Poncon and final control over the Durance. If the river is already under control from the sixteenth century, by the fabulous canal works of Adam Craponne, only a water reservoir, fitted at the confluence of the Durance and the Ubaye, fed by the melting ice Pelvoux, will allow regular irrigation of Provence and production of electrical energy.
