The reception of Italian immigrants, after their trek across the snowy Alps, takes place at the center of Montmélian, at the crossroads of the roads coming from the great Alpine passes of Maurienne and Tarentaise, those of the north (towards Lyon and Geneva) and of the south (towards Grenoble, Vienne and Valence). The center will be closed, following an agreement between the French and Italian states, in order to regulate migration flows and allow 200,000 Italian workers to travel to France.Type
