Abstract

The Library of Alexandria, a symbol of intellectual cooperation in the Mediterranean, is being revived. The reportage reiterates the importance of the Arab knowledge (astronomy, mathematics, medicine, ceramics, calligraphy), developed around the Mediterranean, preceding the Western universities whose development occurs only in the thirteenth century. It is through the development of the commercial world and the cities that the Arab erudition enters the Christian world (the example of Cordoba), and today the gateways between the students of Arab and Western countries develop.
