Abstract

The construction of the Sagrada Familia, in Barcelona, began in the 19th century and will probably be completed in 2040… It was designed by Gaudi; some of the architect’s fans have called for his beatification, which has led to a real debate between opponents and supporters. Gaudi, son of a boilermaker, was the architect of the industrial revolution of Catalonia. He lived from the sponsorship of great entrepreneurs. He died in 1926, hit by a tram, leaving his masterpiece unfinished.
