Abstract

Modern technologies allow to underwater archaeological research to find submerged cities of ancient commercial civilizations. A hundred sites exist around the Mediterranean, such as the lighthouse of Alexandria in Egypt, a river port in Rome, the seaside resort of Baia in the Bay of Naples, or the Kerkennah islands in Tunisia.
