Abstract

During the last years of the ORTF, Patrick Volson and Jean Claude Guidicelli initiated a unique experience, in the tradition of the research department of the ORTF, asking directors to put their cameras in a single location, chosen in France. The series "Common Places" plays on the polysemy of the term, both common place and stage of the life of the community. In the present experiment, it is a moment captured in the old town, on the fish market which sells poutine, a Nicoise specialty pointing to a fish fry.
