Abstract

Unprecedented revolt in Tunisia over the last ten days. A social movement that started from the small town of Sidi Bouzid, has gradually spread to the rest of the country. The revolt is a sign of disaffection among young people facing unemployment. President Ben Ali denounces violence harmful to tourism and economy. In Paris some Tunisians gathered in solidarity with the city of Sidi Bouzid.
