Abstract

Silent document including cartons with inscriptions about Beirut and Lebanon under French Mandate. Built at the foot of Mount Lebanon, on the Saint Georges Bay, Beirut is the capital of the Lebanese Republic. The Port of Beirut is the most active of the Levant and the first commercial center (the big ships not coming alongside, the boatmen pick up the passengers on the road stead). Beirut is the usual seat of the High Commissioner of the French republic- the Grand Serail. -The new buildings on the neighborhood of 'l'Etoile', the mansions of Sursok. -Tram ride through Beirut. -Weygand street. -One of the best promenades is the Cornice. -The states of the Levant are linked to Europe by a French airline.
