- Yes, Hosni Mubarak arrived this morning in Paris, from Rome,

- he almost immediately went to the Palais de l’Elysée

- for a one-to-one meeting with President François Mitterrand.

- A meeting that was followed by a long business lunch.

- In the course of their interview,

- the two heads of State will evoke the visits they must separately pay to Israel.

- But however something is certain,

- François Mitterrand’s support to Camp David process

- and the presence of France in the coming international forces of the Sinai

- strengthened the excellent relationships between Paris and Cairo.

- He is aware of everything and takes part in all Sadate’s decisions.

- But it is without any doubt on October 10th, 1981,

- following murdered Rais’ coffin after 3 days of tragedy in Egypt

- that Hosni Mubarak suddenly realizes the importance of the task that awaits for him

- and today, if he has not reached Sadat’s popularity yet, he is looking for his style.

- A style that he himself defines through his relationships to his two predecessors.

- I am not very close neither to Nasser, nor to Sadate

- but my style is different from Sadate’s and Nasser’s

- but the aims are the same ones.
