Abstract

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will attend the summit during which the Union for the Mediterranean will be launched, in Paris, on Sunday. The project of Mediterranean Union is to give a new boost to the so-called Barcelona process, initiated in 1995 by the European Union. The Union for the Mediterranean aims at strengthening the cooperation between southern Europe countries and the bordering countries of the Mediterranean Sea as Morocco, Syria, Israel and Turkey.
