Abstract

Report on archaeological excavations by the French School of Athens on the island of Thasos, the island's northernmost of the Aegean, a privileged place of observation of trade relations between Greek and barbarian. Yves Grandjean, archaeologist at the French School of Athens and professor at the University of Nancy, is interviewed and talks about the recent discovery of a possible defensive tower on the site and the provided information it implies for archaeologists working on the island.
